I have been asked lately how to manage the over indulgence that often happens at this time of the year. As someone who really enjoys food but knows the pitfalls of what food can do to the body, it’s a tricky question to have an answer to.

For some it might be that they are tracking well with their weight loss goals and don’t want to impact upon that goal. For others it might be that they know that certain foods play havoc on their digestive system, but they just can’t resist the temptation of yummy Christmas food. Whatever the reason, hopefully some of these idea’s can see you through the yummy Christmas feasts about to be had.

Problems with digestion – “I can’t handle rich foods….but I love them!”

Often people who say that cannot handle foods with cream, or that might be high in fat, complain of either re-flux type symptoms or bowel issues such as loose motions or constipation, or both. In general it indicates the whole digestive system needs support.

Organs that need support here include the stomach, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. Each of these play a pivotal role in making sure food is digested properly but how do you figure out easily what you might need?
